Quilt Coat - Patchwork Tie Waist

This quilt coat was made using a handcrafted quilt sourced from East Tennessee made in the 1980s. The stunning colors and patterns used throughout this quilt create a beautiful patchwork block. The backing of this quilt displays a bright and happy floral pattern, perfect for a pop of color when the sleeves are rolled. It is in very good condition for its age. Mending and repairs have been implemented to ensure the longevity of the garment. Imperfections are shown in the product photos. 

The pattern created for this coat has been designed to fit a variety of bodies, intentionally boxy with a drop shoulder. The tie waist feature is new to our coats this season! With this coat being the first to utilize it. The sides of this coat each  have 1 reinforced loop, keeping the tie at the coat's waist line. Bias tape binds the tie, ensuring longer wear and durability of the quilt. The sleeves are intentionally extra long, so they can be styled rolled-up to show off the delicate floral pattern on the inside. 

This quilt is light weight, perfect for seasonal changes or layering! Always remember that this coat is made from an antique quilt that has seen decades of love.

first, remember this is a piece of history - likely around 100 years old. you will see signs of wear, and likely see small tears and stains, which is totally normal! take proper care and be gentle - mending as needed.
